Layla points to the nearest landing spot there is. After they land Layla looks around. A very sour face start to appear. 'Hey ly, what's wrong is somenthing not right?'. Layla push Ash hand harshly.
'how can it be right when the whole place is now corrupted to nothing'.
Ash look around, sadly what Layla say is true, the mountain bits lying here and there, the withering trees on the southern part, not to mention the incredibly many quicksand on the eastren side. That scene really does look horrid if you ask anybody.
'How must I hide all of this, the authorities will find out soon enough'.
Ash once again rest his hand on her shoulder. He close his eyes and chant something. When he do a shining light of yellow, orange and golden appear. The same screeching she hears before. Layla gasp, could it be?. If she memerize correctly the pheonix was not anywhere to be seen during Ash battle. Layla was too caught up in the action she forgot but the majestic bird. The bird appear with it's shining feathers.
'Burn do you still have some magic left in you?'.
'Yeah, why?'.
Ash shrug. He knows the whole place will take a whole lot of magic to revive it into a normal state. 'I know what you want and yes maybe I do have some magic left in me to help'
'How did you know I was about to ask you a favor? Are you a physcic or something'.
Burn want to slap his partner head really hard just to kick somesense into that clueless guy. Burn didn't notice the young girl sitting there watching their conversation like a statue. Truth to be told she has no idea how to communicate with them.
'I'll be back by sundown, you stay here and don't go anywhere'. Ash nod. Layla just chuckle, she thought that Ash will be the boss not the other way around. Layla want to stand up but she end up falling again. Luckily, Ash manage to caught her in time.
'Ly, you better be careful you magic is running low so does your energy, save them up for something worth it'.
Layla nod weakly, what Ash said is true. Her body feel weak like her whole life force just been suck down by something really bad. Ash caries her bridal-style towards the darkling. Layla blush by Ash sudden action but she's to weak to complain. Layla rub the darkling face. All of sudden her hand glow with white glitter shimmering beneath her palm. Both of them are shock when Layla remove her hand. The darkling face turn to normal. His face is pure as a water and harmless as a cotton.
'Thank you for extracting the darkness out of me'.
'Don't talk you will waste your remaining energy'.
'I need to tell you this, save your sister fast before she disappear deeper into darkness. If she do no one can stop the apocalypse that's about to happen'.
'What do you mean sister, I have none'.
The darkling smile 'You will know soon enough, take my gem and set me free, I have no intention to stay in this form any longer'.
Layla take the dark gem in his skull and he disappear into dust floating away to who knows where. Layla feels funny, she didn't feel quite alright after she took out that gem. Her head spin like crazy, her consciousness start to fade away. Ash voice start to get slower by the minute.
'Hey it seems that burn is finish reviving the ground so you don't have to freak out yeah Ly'.
He wait for a response but none are say. He look over to Layla to his great dismay the girl almost faint. Her body move front and back before falling to the ground. Good thing he catch her. He call her name a thousand time but her eyes still want to close. he feel worry really worry.
'Is the girl alright or will she die. No she will not die, I will not make that same mistake again'.
He took a deep breath before screaming Burn on top of his lungs. In seconds the bird is there.
'What is wrong with you, why are you screaming my name like that. Good thing I'm finish'. Ash worried face concern the phoenix, he never been this worried before except when the accident.
'What's wrong Ash?'.
'This girl, she fainted I couldn't sense any magic in her is she going to be alright?'.
Burn fly over to the girl head her he lessen the gap. It's true that the girl power had disappear but the girl still alive.
'No worries Ash she's fine. Her body just have a sudden shock when she hold that stone.' Ash take the gem and melt it into nothing. When he does something like a bead from a bracelet appear in his hand.
'It has one of the constellation sign, it's Leo if I'm not mistaken'.
Burn want to take a look but Ash already dug that thing in his pocket. 'Come let's find our hiding spot for today,' burn nod. Ash carry layla bridal style for the second time. He just don't know why but he like carrying Layla like that.
'You going to bring the girl with us?'. Ash answer with a nod. Her body is cold, colder than a block of ice. 'There'. Burn points to a cave in front of them. Ash sprint to get inside, he put layla down and start making beds for him, her and burn. 'B, will you please collect some more woods'. Burn reluctantly find some wood. Right now Ash and Layla are alone. Ash want to find something that could start a bonefire. He thinks that could warm them up for a few minute.
'Ash?, where are we?'. Layla question shock him.
'Ly, you're alright', Ash wrap his hands around her shoulder and pull her closer towards him. Layla want to struggle out but the pose she's in feel rather comfortable. Layla knows they just met but having something that could warm up her heart wouldn't hurt.
'Ash can you let go now'.
'Why?'.
'Nothing just I think you are sniffing my scent'. Ash pull away his hand and pout.
'Your scent, it reminds me of something precious to me a long time ago but I just couldn't remember what'.
Layla blush. Ash look at her, he stare at her face for a very log time.
'What is something the matter Ash'. Ash closen his face, that make Layla blush even more.
'Hey Ly are you alright because you face is redder than the hair of Zierra'.
Layla face turn blank, she fall down backwards on the cave cold hard ground. Now she fill with rage, 'how can you ask such a stupid question', Layla devilish side start to come out.
Ash tremble as he looks at his new friend. Layla sigh, it just a waste of time beating the crap out of Ash. She sit down right next to him and shiver. Layla feel something soft on her neck, when she sees it's a muffler she look over to Ash.
'Hey are you fine without your muffler? It's pretty chilly in here'. Ash shook his head violently. Layla could see he's lying because his body start to shake. Too bad she isn't in her ordinary clothes. Layla look at the end of the muffler. Ash'smuffler is pretty long, it can fit two people in it. Layla took the end and wrap it around his neck.
'Just so you know there are still distance between us', Layla has to inform that before Ash got any funny ideas.
'I'm fine without it', Layla really hate people who try to act strong when they are not. She tighten the knot on his neck which resulting him choking for breath.
'Why did you do that for', Ash gasps for some air.
'I'm back here's the wood you ask, oh my', evil smirk come right cross Burn's face. Ash knows that smirk and he don't like it, not one bit.
'Burn don't you get any funny ideas or catch phases'. He was too late when 'YOU LLLLLLLIKE HEER'. Ash face turn beet red. 'How did you roll your tongue like that and who teach you to roll your tongue like that you!!!'.He swoop over to grab the bird but instead he grab something else . A hard slap arrive across his face. Layla panting hardly when he did that.
'Sorry, I didn't mean too, please forgive me. here I got an apology gift'. Ash give the bead from his pocket to Layla. Her face turn bright red with joy, now she knows what that mean and why she feel funny. That gem just suck some of her energy into the bead so she can merge with it and call the spirit within, anytime she want.
'Thank you for this gift it's lovely'.
'So are we cool'. Ash hopeful face just sent a wave of charity to her heart.
'Sure, we are cool'.
'well that settle could we please light on the fire please'. Ash nod, he breath some fire out to light up the bonfire.
'You know I never feel this comfortable before'.
'You don't?', Ash don't believe what he's hearing.
'Yeah, my dad dies because of unknown reason and my mom disappear so literally I have never feel a family comfort, you must have right Ash'.
'To tell you the truth, neither am I, I never knew who my parents are. One day, I was walking through the forest and I found a nice dragon and fire phoenix, that dragon name Fellia and the bird is Bury'. Layla giggle 'that's a funny name for a bird'.
'You know it, I couldn't stop laughing for three whole hours when that bird introduce itself'.
Layla smile she feel happy when this boy is around seriously she does.
