‘Hmmm’, Layla rub her eyelids, she is awaken in the middle of the night because there is someone climbing the attic on top of her bedroom.
‘Grr, who is awake at this-’, she grab her alarm clock ‘Three in the morning!!!’, Layla pull up her sleeves.
‘I’m gonna get the guy who woke me up this early’. Layla jump out of her bed.
She open her bedroom door and walk to the nearest bathroom.
‘It’s hard to see in this kind of situation’. ‘Aha, ‘ Layla grab the button. She pushes it and the stairs to the attic fall down.
Layla could hear someone sobbing. ‘Hey is someone here’, that’s a stupid question but that’s the only thing that Layla can think in the moment.
She is trembling to the core. Who wouldn’t, if someone is sobbing upstairs it could be a ghost or anything.
‘What do you want?’ answer the voice, with the little light Layla could make out the boy figure a little bit.
Layla breath the sigh of relief. ‘Hey it’s you from before? The porcupine boy right?’.
The boy didn’t answer or do anything instead he turns to face towards the stars and the moon twinkling upon the beautiful dark blue skies.
Layla quickly takes a seat next to the boy.
‘Hey what’s troubling you mate?’. She could smeel the boy mix up emotion.
She is trying her best to convince the boy to talk everything to her like best friend would do, but the boy seems not into the idea of telling her everything.
She notices the sparkling hairclip inside the boy palms. ‘What would a boy do with a hairclip’ she wondered.
‘Do you have a great connection with girls?’ the boys ask suddenly.
‘Ehhhh, why do you need such knowledge anyway?’.
The boy sighs. ‘Well there is this one girl I’m trying to save but she kinda hate my guts so I wonder if you could help me in any way’.
Layla understand the situation fully. ‘Well, first tell me what she’s like then I will help you. But first introduce yourself. My name is Layla Frosbite, nice to meet you’.
She hold out her hand, but the boy didn’t get it so he ignore the whole thing.
‘My name is Ray. Well that girl, she’s lonely I feel like I know her for a very long time’, Ray shake his head.
‘No time to figure that out’, he mentally shout at himself. Ray continues to talk about June ‘She only has little friend in my opinion, she has a bad past and only a few people understands her, I do, but something I said just somehow hurt her’.
Ray face flash before Layla’s eye.
He looks down, worried and hurt. ‘I know how she feels with my whole heart, she lonely and hurt, the same scars of betrayal. She will fall into darkness if I couldn’t save her. I need to. I don’t want anybody fall into darkness because of me ever again.’
Layla knows that if she ever asks him about the whole cause of people falling into darkness, he will never say anything.
It was too much of a secret to for someone to say anything.
‘Well, if you need to say something just say it to her, apologize and say what you really meant and please be straightforward because that kind of girl never understand anything if you speak with poem with a secret meaning okay, plus she’s the kind of type that easily misunderstands words’.
Layla suddenly bring her face closer to Ray, she need to know how sincere the boy is towards the girl he just mention.
Ray blush, that girl face is inches away from his. Layla gasps, she quickly turn her head around. ‘Too close, you idiot’, Layla mentally shout at herself.
She feel uneasy, her heart is racing fast, really fast like a race car.
She just realizes how close her face was a minute ago from Ray. ‘Anyhow, who is that red hair girl, is she the one you are talking about?’ that manage to break the awkward silence.
Ray look Layla in the eye. It seems she really meant what she just asks, he just burst out with laughter.
‘Are you serious, that demon?. I will never love her na-ah NEVER!!’, he highlight his voice at the never part so she would hear him right.
Ray couldn’t believe how clueless the girl next to him, no one will ever love such terrifying girl even if they are force to.
‘Well, say what you want-’, Layla stand up and brush the dirt off her night gown.
‘But you seem pretty close with her anyway.’ Layla put her hand on Ray’s shoulder.
‘Get some sleep. If you need more advice just tell me ‘kay’. Layla wave good bye and head to her bedroom for some good night sleep.
‘Huh, if she will forgive me, maybe I will feel a little bit better’ Ray stand up and stretch. That girl is right, he need some good night sleep.
Ray yawn, he really need to head to sleep fast. Ray groan, he hates it when Ash conquer the sheet.
‘Hey blockhead, give me some of your share will you’. Ray shakes Ash a little but that didn’t get him up. Ray didn’t want to use force or he will wake the monster up
‘Hmm, ggget away, fire dragon punch’. That hit Ray right on his jaw.
‘You little-‘,someone turn on the light.
Ray turns his head slowly because he’s sensing some bad aura, the same bad aura he hates the most.
‘Ray? What are you doing up this late?’, the voice crackle.
Ray shiver, ‘nothing ma-am, I just want to head out to bed’, Ray stammer but the voice seems to be convince.
‘Whatever but I want you sleeping in the count of ten’.
The voice start counting, Ray quickly grabs the nearest bed sheet and pillow. He had no choice but to sleep on the floor because that block head just had to conquer the sofa.
‘Watch out, next time I will get you for this’, he mumble.
‘Hah, is that somebody’s voice I hear’. Ray shivers and fake snoring. The voice shakes her head.
She can’t believe how he can be so childish sometimes. The voice quickly climbs the stairs, but something makes her stop in the middle of the stairs.
She feels a presence that’s not allowed in the house but the aura quickly fade away.
‘Maybe just my imagination’, but the voice checks the perimeter just to be sure.
She has a very bad feeling about this, yes very bad.
Layla woke up the next morning with a head ache. She quickly get dress and head down stairs.
She rubs her eyelids for the tenth time that morning. ‘Good morning sleepy head’, Shikari greet her.
Well, that is rare to hear every day in her life, no one ever greet her that way before not even her grandparents.
The sweet smell of her favorite pancakes and maple syrup just raise her appetite.
‘Where’s grandma and grandpa’. Shikari takes off her apron and help Layla to her table, she still need some rest after what happen yesterday.
‘They left awhile ago, they also left a message for you’. That beam Layla face up, she seems happy about the news.
‘They said, to take care and get healthy because they just head out on a month road trip.’
Layla feel disappointed for some reason, Shikari feel bad for her, she really does.
‘Hey, Hikari can I ask you something’. Hikari nod and take seat in front of her.
‘Can you please-‘. Layla didn’t have the chance to finish her sentence when Ash crash into the kitchen with Ray on top of him.
‘Why did you punch me you idiot’, Ash shouts.
Ray punch and kick Ash at his stomach while mumbling about you going to pay for making Ray sleep in the floor.
Layla couldn’t help but notice that her new friends act like five year old kid. She didn’t have the energy to stop them but she didn’t need to because the demon lord just arrive.
Ray accidently kick Zierra’s face which enrage her plus adding her moody self that morning.
‘How dare you kick my face, you idiot scum’, a flashy sword appear in front of them. Ash and Ray hug each other and tremble.
They have awaken the great demon from her slumber. ‘Z-Zierra, we didn’t mean to hurt you’.
That didn’t stop Zierra from almost cutting them into fourteen different pieces and baked them alive.
‘Hey stop it, Zierra are you crazy?’.
Layla shake her head, those three acts like children.
‘Now, here’s the rule when you are in my house, first not fighting’.
She specifically meant the boys.‘Second, no sword in the house’.
Zierra hold back her sword.
‘Third, tell me how the hell did you guys get into my house’, Layla face redden like a pepper, this time it’s not because of shyness but because of madness in her heart.
Shikari just chuckle at the situation. ‘This certainly most lively family of all’,
Shikari smile warmly and take a sip of her green tea. Oh how she wish she has such an amazing family.
‘If you want to know that badly I will tell you, plus you are the one that ask me to tell you in the first place right Layla?'.
Layla nod and take a seat ‘We use the front door’, answer Shikari boldly, she have this cute smile of her to make people follow her every command.
‘But I really want to know something though’.
‘What is it?’. Everyone is giving Shikari attention for her question.
Hikari points at Zierra and Ray. ‘You guys are from the other dimension but how did you get here'.
‘How come you ask about us when you didn’t ask about him’, Ray point at Ash, he really feel piss off.
Ash just stare at the commotion without any expression. ‘Well, a voice call for me so I need to help it DUH’.
Hikari chuckle, ‘Well that was me, I need you to come here’.
In a minute all their attention are focus on Hikari.
Hikari take a step back, she really feel uncomfortable by the situation.
‘Well, tell us why did you ask this block head of all people you could have ask’, say Ray with his piss off tone again.
‘Uhhh, how should I say this-‘, Hikari scratch her chin, she really doesn’t know where to start actually.
